Mindfully Moving During Your Menstrual Cycle
Throughout the month you may notice periods of time when you are feeling more motivated and activated than other times. This can be due to your menstrual cycle and how it effects the body. Sometimes the body may require a little more rest and sometimes a little more play. That’s why we’ve created this mindful guide for moving your body during your menstrual cycle!
MENSTRUATION PHASE
During this part of your cycle you may experience high amounts of fatigue, cramping, and bloating. Your body might be indicating that you need rest. That’s why we suggest meditation and light stretching during this time of the month. Stretching has major benefits like releasing endorphins and can keep you feeling limber. Meditation can allow you to refocus your mind and give you a healthy outlet to feel your best!
This balancing meditation offered by our coach Dawn is the perfect way for you to connect back with your body in it’s natural state of being. Dawn guides you through this experience in a way that honors where you are at with your mind and body. Take some time for you!
FOLLICULAR PHASE
It’s common during the follicular phase to experience high levels of energy. Your mood may be heightened and you may feel like the most positive version of you! That’s why we recommend utilizing your natural energy to engage in an active workout such as Cycle, HIIT, HIGH Fitness, or Step!

OVULATION PHASE
During this time of the month strength is heightened and you might experience more energy. This is the perfect time to incorporate more core training into your movement!

LUTEAL PHASE
During the luteal phase progesterone levels are increased. This means that you may be craving a little more rest and a little less high intensity activity. Yoga is the perfect option to incorporate Mindful Movement into your day during this phase! It allows you to maintain the slower paced activity levels your body needs.
