Four Rivers To Visit

We all know that August is the hottest month here in the PNW! We are here to help you find a fun place to go cool off and dip your feet in the water! Rivers are a great place to go where you can have a picturesque picnic, swim, float, and take your kids and animals.

Here are four awesome rivers that you must visit in Snohomish county!

STILLAGUAMISH RIVER

The Stillaguamish River is a GREAT river for many reasons! It is composed of two “forks” - the North and South. These two forks meet in Arlington under the walking bridge (on Centennial Trail) that you can access from Haller Park.

There are many different ways that you can get to the river. One being from Haller Park, where there are trails that you can take down to the river. The Haller Park access point is a great place to go if you have children! It has two playgrounds, a splash pad and walking trails! Another access point is at Twin Rivers Park where there are MANY trails that can take you to different sections of the river.

SNOHOMISH RIVER

The Snohomish River is a VERY long and winding river. It goes through Snohomish and then meets the Skykomish River & Snoqualmie River. It also connects with the Puget Sound in between Everett and Marysville. There are many spots where you can spend the day on a sandbar or go tubing!

There are A LOT of walking trails and parks next to the Snohomish River. Langus Riverfront Park has a very nice walking path and picnic tables throughout where you can sit down and have lunch! Rotary Park is also another park to visit along the river that has a lot of wildlife and bird watching!

SKYKOMISH RIVER

Surrounded by mountains and forest, the scenery along the Skykomish river is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! North Fork Skykomish is great for the ADVENTURER! There’s great whitewater rafting, kayaking, and cliff jumping sections on the river! There’s also swimming holes with water falls and perfectly flat rocks to bask on in the SUNSHINE! If you do plan a visit, make sure you leave and get to the river early! This is a particularly popular area being that is it so BEAUTIFUL!

PILCHUCK RIVER

Tiny but mighty, the Pilchuck river is very shallow during the summer months. This river is great for small children, dogs, and hiking! There is the Pilchuck River Trail that is 6.7 miles with less than a 400ft elevation gain. The VIEWS of the river make this trail great for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking. It is also a great spot for a short tubing experience!

We hope you get to visit some of these AWESOME rivers before summer ends! If you plan a trip, remember to share your pictures and tag us @athleisurecollective!
