Local Spring Hike Guide

The PNW is known for having some of the BEST hiking trails! With our lush rainforests and alpine wilderness, you can find just about any kind of hike that you are interested in! Hikes range from easy to hard, different levels of elevations, and low to high miles!

lake 22

Miles (roundtrip): 5.4

Elevation Gain: 1350ft

This is a great and TOP RATED hike off of Mountain Loop Highway! It features old-growth, waterfalls, mountain views, and a very well maintained trail! This is one of the most popular hikes — so be sure to leave EARLY in the morning to get a spot close to the trail head!

Heather lake

Miles (roundtrip): 5.0

Elevation Gain: 1034ft

This hike embodies what the PNW really is! Moody, rainy, rocky, and has you walking through some old logging trails! Once you get to the lake, there is a path that leads all the way around where you can find a nice spot to take a break and eat your lunch!

lime kiln trail

Miles (roundtrip): 7.0

Elevation Gain: 625ft

Lime Kiln Trail is a great hike for families with children! The elevation gain is low and although it is seven miles, you can easily treat this hike as a walk and turn back around whenever! This hike runs within the Robe Canyon Historic Park that has lots of history from when a railroad and logging community lived here!

boulder river

Miles (roundtrip): 8.6

Elevation Gain: 700ft

Another lower elevation gain is Boulder River! This hike has you hiking next to a double water fall, river and beautiful wilderness! Hike this trail all year!

If you want to venture out to the North Bend area…

Rattlesnake ledge

Miles (roundtrip): 4.0

Elevation Gain: 1160ft

Rattlesnake Ledge has a quick elevation gain on a very well maintained and busy trail! This trail is popular for sunrise hikers because the top of the trail comes right out onto a ledge that looks over the Rattlesnake Lake and nearby mountains! It is known for its beautiful views and wildlife!
